As the University of Minnesota's Writing Across the Curriculum Director and the Center for Writing's Associate Director, I work with faculty members, graduate teaching assistants, and affiliate instructors who are interested in integrating writing instruction into their content courses. My approach is to begin by eliciting instructors'
context-specific concerns (disciplinary uses for writing, specific course outcomes, teaching styles, and so forth) and then to discuss strategies for writing instruction that are suited to these concerns.

Current venues for these discussion include one-on-one consultations, departmental discussions, workshops on teaching concerns, and “Teaching with Writing,” an annual, week-long seminar for instructors. I currently direct the Writing-Enriched Curriculum, a grant-funded program facilitating instructional change within the University's academic units.
